Station 44 located at 17207 N. Newport Highway, opened in the spring of 1995 replacing our old station located in the town of Colbert.  The new station allowed for expansion of services with room for staff offices, resident quarters and a much larger apparatus bay.  The station opened with all new apparatus.  Once again we have new apparatus.  Engine 44 was replaced this last summer and this winter placed a new brush engine in service.

Station 44 is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with part time and volunteer firefighters.  Part time staff rotate between stations to get a feel for all response areas in the district.
